Ginger tea speeds up digestion. Since coffee burns my stomach, I drink “Healthy Hot Chocolate,” which is unsweetened cocoa powder with honey and soy milk. That moves my stuff like espresso, minus the pain! Hmmm…. what else? I’m a fan of the whole grain mestermacher breads. Those rock. One slice has 20% of the fiber you need for one day. Amazake rice and nut drinks have 40% of the fiber you need for one day. There’s Smart Treat cookies with 20% and Bear Valley Meal Pack bars with 40%. Date bars like nectars and jocolats have 20-25% of the fiber you need for one day.

Personally, I stay away from laxatives, even natural ones like Senna. They flush me out so completely that I lose all of my digestive enzymes. When I eat after a cleanse, I have HORRIBLE gas and constipation. Actually, many doctors have warned IBS sufferers from laxatives, for this very reason, in the literature that I’ve read. Laxatives can cause constipation.

Psylllium fiber helps - metamucil good. i know everyone says not to use laxatives and i wouldn’t do it often, but Senna Prompt has both psyllium fiber and some senna, for when its really bad. so i use that. it’s hard to find in most drugstores but you can order it at medichest.com and probably some others. they’re the easiest though with good prices

Actually senna and psyllium husk can be very, very harsh on the digestive system for many people. I tried both before I knew this and was doubled over in severe pain and didn’t help my c.

Honey is has no nutritional value and is the same as high fructose corn syrup . Enfants under 12 months can’t even eat it because they could develop botulism.
