New IBS Over The Counter Drug – Digestive Advantage
David April 13th, 2007
For those of you who are also irritable bowel syndrome sufferers like myself, you’re willing to try just about any new drug or therapy that becomes available on the market. Last time I was at the grocery store I came across a new product that claims to clinically manage abdominal pain and bloating and his drug-free.
Digestive Advantage irritable bowel syndrome is a once daily medical food product that is intended for use by irritable bowel syndrome sufferers. It is not a cure for irritable bowel syndrome nor is it intended to replace any medications that were prescribed by a physician.
The manufacturers claim their patent pending Ganeden Lactobacillus cultures contain what they call “healthy bacteria” is supposed to work within your intestinal ecosystem.
I have yet to try this new IBS product but my hopes are low since everything I’ve tried over the counter has failed to work. If any of you have already tried this product please comment below as I’m interested to hear your experiences with it.
You can purchase this product directly on Amazon.com or visit your local grocery store as they will probably have stock available as well.

Thanks for the tip David. Free samples are a great way to test it to your system before you buy!
There is another newer OTC probiotic supplement that Procter & Gamble has put out within the last 2 years, called Align.
I actually work with P&G, and we’re trying to find influential bloggers like you to try it for free and post a review of what you think on your blog.
Email me at laurie@bridgeworldwide.com with your mailing address, and we’ll send you a free two-month supply of Align – no charges for you at all. The product website is http://www.aligngi.com if you want to find out more about it first.
We hope to hear from you!
Avon has a product called “Flat Stomach” which has been working very well for my IBS-C – Activia also works okay, but not quite as well as the Avon product which costs about $12 a month to use.

I have been taking Align now for 4 days. It seems to be helping already with my stomach problems (bloating, gas nausea, constipation). I know I Aligns web site it says it may take a few weeks for it to really kick in, but I really seem to be feeling better already. Hope it continues. The product is some what pricey, but if it works I will continue to take it.
After over 20 years of suffering with autoimmune problems and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac disease a couple of years ago. The long-term damage to my system was so pronounced that I have also developed allergies to casein and nuts. Needless to say, I’ve been desperate to find something that will help me “normalize” my system (to the greatest extent it can be), and cleanse it as well.
The Dr Max Powers 15 Day Cleanse was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Excellent, effective, and allergen-free. Two-a-day along with an allergen-free diet and my IBS is a thing of the past. Best of all–no prescription medication needed now! The price is pretty great, too.
I have IBS. Nothing has helped my terribly painful, bloated stomach until yesterday. I saw this medicine at the drugstore & decided to give it a try. For weeks straight now I have looked 3 months pregnant (when I’m not) & hurt constantly. I was amazed at just how fast it worked! Within 15 minutes I felt some relief. Within 30 minutes my pain was GONE! I thank God that I found it b/c I can’t afford to go to the Dr. right now & my wedding is in 3 weeks. If I didn’t do soemthing my fitted dress wouldn’t zip. This stuff is FANTASTIC!
Dee,
Was it the Digestive Advantage that helped you??
I have had IBS for 2 years now. I have been on Digestive Advantage for IBS for last 2 weeks and have really felt the difference. I will continue on it. I had been using their Lactose Intolerance formula already for some years now (love that it is only once a day).
I don’t know if my problem is IBS but I have had my gallbladder removed. now almost every meal I eat ,no matter what it is ,but I end up with stomach cramps. i know it is bathroom time about 3 or 4 trips each time. I have started trying to keep Imodium tablets with me. but when I go out to eat I make sure I know where the restroom is. and if I go on a trip believe me, I don’t eat.so I will try this new medicine to see if it helps. My niece has the same problem and she says, what is the point of eating?
sometimes I just eat more after the episodes.
thanks,I will try it and pray it helps.

well today is day 4 of taking this new digestive advantage and as far as I can say I think it is doing something good for me. I have ate out Sunday and no stomach cramps or bathroom runs. I know it says 7 days but something in it is helping and I am not making it up. I have noticed I don’t feel bloated . but I am eating less? Is that a side effect? plus no one said which time a day to take it? I am taking mine after breakfast. I may not have IBS as much as others do. but I am very happy to learn about this Digestive Advantage. because I was very tired of eating and running to the bathroom .tired of the cramps and bloating and nausea. thanks .
Martha
well here I am back. it is Nov.1,2010 . and I am still on the Digestive Advantage. it has help a lot . right now I am trying to only take it only when I really need to. like every other day or twice a week. I am seeing a bit of constipation some days. no cramping . I do have a lot of stress right now but otherwise that medicine is a blessing.
thanks again,
Martha Lofton
Martha – So thrilled Digestive Advantage is working for you! I actually work for the manufacturer of this product and I really enjoyed reading your posts about your experience. If I may, I’d like to make a suggestion: The product really works best when taken every day. That’s because the probiotics (the healthy bacteria that makes this product work) inside each capsule get flushed from your system within 48 hours. Let me know if you have any questions! My email is drotshtein@ganedenbiotech.com.
Keep in touch and good luck!

Two and half years ago I started taking Digestive Advantage. About six year prior I dealt with a lot of pain and suffering from what was diagnosed as IBS. I really loved the product, and it helped immensely until about 6 months ago. I started having horrible constipation, so I ordered the constipation formula from Digestive advantage as well. I took both every single day. It got to where I only had a BM twice a week with horrible nausea and bloating that woke me and kept me up during the middle of the night. I really do not understand the sudden change, but others that I have recommended the product to have also said that they get ‘backed up’ as well. I still take the product, but only like twice a week and I drink Metamucil every night…. The only thing I can think of, is that maybe my body has changed.
