cranky_gut OR ANYONE ELSE WITH ADVICE. My wife and I are in heated debates about having kids. I've had IBS since 2001ish. I have 2-8 episodes a month. I have no cure for you. I take a prescription called pamine right when I feel IBS coming. It stops the intestines from spasming and it won't bind you up like an antidiaria med. It will get you off the toilet in 20-30 minutes. I'm still very fatigued the rest of the day.

My question to you, I can barely take care of my self and my wife and be a loving husband. I can't imagine having babies. Babies mean less sleep which increases my IBS. Babies mean more stress which increases IBS...and on and on.

Advice for this possible future parent?
